Matt Kemp is a 6'2"/230 lb. beast that is awesome at playing professional baseball matches. He just turned 23. He is super-radical. He has a rocket-laser arm. However, for some reason, there are constant trade rumors circling this gazelle. Oh, did I forget to mention that he's the fastest player on the team? Yes, faster than Pierre.
In his first 150 MLB games his line is the following:
Avg .312
OPS .839
HR 17
SB 16
Indeed, he is awesome. The numbers prove it. Did I mention that these are from his FIRST 150 games in the show? Yes, he was under 23 when he put up these numbers.
Ned Colletti, showing his love of all things moustache, apparently has his heart set on signing Aaron "Broken Face" Rowand. But hey, Rowand's a good player, right? I saw him on the ESPY's breaking his face on the wall making that catch. Good catch. Was it worth missing a month....probably not. Should we sign Rowand for big $$$ and consider trading Kemp. Let's look at the numbers...
Rowand's Career Year (2007)
Avg .309
OPS .889
HR 27 (playing in Williamsport, PA...4th on team)
SB 6
Rowand's Avg Year
Avg .286
OPS .805
HR 14.8
SB 7.7
Again, Kemp's first 150 games
Avg .312
OPS .839
HR 17
SB 16
I would argue that Kemp is ALREADY better than Rowand at playing professional baseball matches. Also, he might get better between the ages of 23-30. Essentially every player gets substantially better during these years...maybe he'll improve from super-rad to Kemp-rod. Maybe he'll only continue the current rate and we'll call him Kemp-vlad.
In closing, if Colletti signs Rowand for huge $$$ with thoughts of trading Matt Talbot McCallister Kemp then he can eat my shit. But hey, maybe Jeff Kent will comeback if a white guy is playing CF. Maybe Kent and Rowand can also compete in the pairs division of the moustache world championships and take down this guy.

In more good news, MLBTR is reporting that a Kemp, Kershaw, and Laroche deal could be in the works for Miggy. The Angels may counter with an offer of Ervin Santana, Howie Kendrick, Chris Bootcheck, and Nick Adenhart.
If this is true, what the fuck are we thinking? We are offering a future/current superstar in Kemp, a guy who has raked at every level of the minors and did a good job getting on base in limited at-bats in Laroche, and one of the top 3 pitching prospects in the game. The Angels are offering a bad defensive 2nd basemen with no power who doesn’t get on base in Kendrick, a mediocre (at best) starting pitcher in Santana (record around .500 with ERA in high 4’s) coming off a terrible season, a dogshit middle reliever in Bootcheck, and a less stellar pitching prospect in Adenhart.
We don’t have to give up Kemp to get Cabrera! Nobody else is offering anywhere close to what we are! A Laroche, Kershaw, plus other prospect or two deal is way more than what the Angels are willing to give up. I wouldn’t give up Kemp to get Cabrera straight up anyway. He is faster, a better defender by a long shot, and has the chance to be nearly as productive at the dish. Matt also doesn’t put on five pounds of extra weight in carnitas every time he sits down to lunch. Granted he’s a hell of a hitter, but you give up a couple of less stellar guys or prospects to get a star player, you don’t give up another star plus a quality prospect plus a top flight young arm.
Anyone who has seen Matt Kemp play regularly knows we are not exaggerating about his ability (except for maybe Luigi Coletti and that geisha bitch who run the Dodger front office). If Coletti trades away Kemp I will hit him in the sack with a hammer until the cops strap me into the electric chair.
And that mustache is sweet!
So, I was just reading that we are also considering moving Kemp in a deal for Erik Bedard. I am now hoping that Colletti is going to the pull the trigger on three different deals at once, trading Kemp, Laroche and Kershaw for Santana, Miguel Cabrera and Bedard. And then, when the other GMs call, Colletti just has Olmedo answer the phone.
Olmedo should say the following when he answers...
"International House of Carnitas...c'mon down, don't be a faggot"
"Mis-her Cuhletti is a no at home"
