No you aren't losing your mind, this is actually a new post going up on the blog. I'll pause while you catch your breathe...
As things stand now, the Dodgers are just a game out of first despite playing far below (at least our) expectations all year with a record of 49-51. On the bright side, the youth movement continues to serve the squad well as the teams top four players in average, OBP, slugging, RBI and runs scored are the youngsters Kemp, Martin, Loney, and Ethier (in varying orders). Not too shabby. On the flip side, Andruw Jones continues to play like the fat kid on my old little league teams (Mr. Falcon informed me he's having the worst season in THE HISTORY OF THE SPORT OF BASEBALL) and injuries to Furcal and Nomar haven't helped at all (especially since Furcal was having an MVP type year before his injury).
On the pitching staff, Kuroda, Billingsley, and Lowe continue to do work. The pen has been solid as expected. Again injuries haven't helped as Penny and now Saito have missed time. I'm also convinced that Jason Schmidt never really had a shoulder to begin with.
So where to we go from here? Apparently Ned Coletti has no fucking clue. According to Ken Gurnick he is looking to move one of our young 3rd basemen to acquire someone like Casey Blake, Jack Wilson, or better yet...DAVID FUCKING ECKSTEIN!!!
If that failed abortion ever puts on a Dodger uniform I am going to light Coletti's mustache on fire and use it to burn down Dodger Stadium to avoid seeing its memory raped by such an atrocity.
So now that all that is off my chest, let's get some runs!!! As I type we're down 4-2 in the bottom of the 3rd in Denver and I think it is about time the Boys in Blue win about 62 games in a row so we're gonna need a comeback.
