The following was written by mlb.com contributor (Barry M. Bloom) regarding the Manny Ramirez negotiations:
"As far as the Dodgers are concerned, after GM Ned Colletti chatted with Boras last week the continued high asking price of re-signing Ramirez has made them turn to possibly signing a reliever such as Trevor Hoffman."
What the fuck is this douchebag talking about??? Manny is asking for too much. Therefore, we will sign Trevor Hoffman for $4MM. Completely and totally unrelated. Fucking irrelevant. Fucking totally irrelevant.
Here is what would've made sense:
"As far as the Dodgers are concerned, after GM Ned Colletti chatted with Boras last week the continued high asking price of re-signing Ramirez has made them turn to possibly signing fucking Adam Dunn OR fucking Bobby Abreu"

In breaking news, this doesn't really matter because the Brewers are going to sign Hoffman anyway. I for one view this as a blessing. We certainly need to add a lot of pieces but that cum guzzling old padre ain't one of them.
To Mr. Falcon's stylistic point, I would also have suggested: "Since our cheapskate owner refused to re-sign our affordable top-notch closer (Saito) and a proven lefty specialist (Beimel), Ned Coletti has been told to flush a few million down the toilet by signing an over the hill donkey that most casual fans have at least heard of in the hopes that this will appease the idiot masses into thinking that the bullpen is completely solidified."
