Tony Jackson of The Daily News claimed that "[t]here was one Internet report last week that the Dodgers rejected a Twins proposal of Santana for Kershaw and Ethier." Reminds me of the time Jessica Alba showed up at my door with box of condoms, a bottle of Crisco, and wearing nothing but a Matt Kemp authentic road jersey. I responded with a curt "good day" and slammed the door in her face.
But then it got me thinking. The current Yankees proposal was Hughes, Melky, and Kennedy. That's one servicable MLB outfielder (Melky), one top-notch pitching prospect (Hughes), and one good pitching prospect (Kennedy). Maybe we could get Santana w/out selling the house. Ethier is a servicable MLB outfielder. Kershaw is a top-notch pitching prospect. If we drum up one more pitching prospect our package would be comparable.
In conclusion...maybe Jessica Alba does want to do me.

I would have commented on this post sooner but after thinking about Jessica Alba rocking nothing but a Matt Kemp jersey I needed a good five minutes of alone time in the bathroom...Giggity!
This is what I have been saying all along about Miggy and Johan. The teams who are dumping these superstar players just because they are too cheap to pay them do not have the leverage in these deals, despite idiots like Jayson Stark and Buster Olney insisting that "it will take a huge offer" to get these guys. The fact that they are even considering deals means they are dumping these dudes and will only get whatever someone is willing to offer. So far it looks like teams are being smart about what they will offer so the Twins and Marlins probably won't get a whole lot (or at least not anything like the Kemp, Martin, Billingsley, Loney, Valenzuela, Lasorda, Gibson, Hershiser, and Maury Wills package that was floating around the rumor mill a month or so ago).
I would be more than happy with any deal that brought us Santana OR Miggy so long as it didn't include any of the guys on my earlier list. I would also like to keep Delwyn Young because I feel like he will rake the pelota in a few years (although if the move didn't involve a ton of other guys I wouldn't have a problem with moving him either).
And after much thought I think the better way to go would be Jessica's slightly less attractive (but much more enthusiastic/willing) sister. Maybe not as hot (although without the Hollywood makeup on Jessica probably pretty close) and still with something to prove...Giggity!
