Not Unless They Take Pierre

Colletti supposedly has interest in Hank Blalock. Yes, Hank Blalock.

Why the fuck would we want Hank Blalock? I pretty sure we already have a mediocre under-performing third baseman clearly on the decline. His name is Nomar Garciaparra. Let's take a look at the numbers (as everyone already knows I'm in love with OPS and find all other stats to be superfluous)...

OPS (2004-2006)

Nomar -- .870/.772/.872
Blalock -- .855/.749/.726

Blalock did post a .901 in 2007, but he only appeared in 50 games. Nomar was an abortion in 2007 posting a .700. Regardless, I don't think Blalock really provides any significant upgrade over Nomar (they're both shitty defenders too). All he really does is further block Laroche's development.

Also, can somebody put Nomar in the Delorian with Doc Brown, pump that thing up to 88 MPH, reach 21.1 jigga"watts", pop in the last Jay-Z album yell "jigga-who", find his past OPS numbers, and bring them back with you to 2008:::

Nomar's Past OPS
1998 = .946
1999 = 1.022
2000 = 1.033

Hank Blalock? More like Hank Bla-suck!

Or: more like Hank Bla-not-a-lock-to-be-a-very-productive-third-baseman!

It was one point twenty one jigga watts you dumbass!

Hank Blalock has AIDS! I would say more but I think my position on this useless piece of shit has already been established on MLBTR.

I'm gonna have to watch it again. I checked google and there seems to be a discrepency. Some people have it at 21.1 while others have it at 1.21.

However, we're both wrong about the other part. It's actually "gigawatts".

I think he actually pronounces it like "jigga watts" though. I also prefer saying jigga in front of any word like jigga-what or jigga-who so that is how I'm saying it.

I'll bring the beers if you're watching it because that movie is awesome. I think I would have banged Lea Thompson even if she was my mom (although she was WAY hotter in Howard the Duck). You also can't beat a Huey Lewis and the News soundtrack.
