Once again we can't back up a good showing with another. Jones was out of the lineup for Pierre, who licked balls. At least it was a very fast 0-4. How does this guy play versus Volquez, who throws the straight ball; something Jones hits? Whatever, with the way he is playing who knows if he could handle the Change. I'm really not sure about this whole Nomar in the 3 spot thing, too. Especially when Ethier is smacking doubles around like he's Fredo. Furcal's solid season has been well documented, Martin is starting to serously get his shit together, and Ethier has a huge dong. 1-2-3 every game in my mind. I think the only substitution there could be at three with a Loney or Kemp, since Kent seems to have earned a Cleanup Spot For The Rest of Your Life Card and there's no cracking that position.

Loaiza came in for 3 solid innings of "put-the-game-out-of-reach" relief in which he gave up a jack to a struggling Phillips. This was after Proctor blew an 0-2 count to fuck us for the second time in three games. Our bullpen is playing like Pierre of late. What makes the loss tonight even more annoying is Steiner's inability to say Encarnacion. I want to shoot myself. At least Lyons said "You gotta whack it" on air. It feels that something is off. Is it the lineup, the inconsistency? All I know is that we are definitely a better team than we are playing.
