Well TQ...ViGers (that's right, judicious use of the "T" word) the first week of the 2008 championship season is in the books and it's time for Falcon's Weekly Wrap-Up ---- Yippy-kay-Aye!!!
I know that managers don't really have much effect on the outcome of games, but it was a little comforting to see Torre come outta the dugout on opening day. Well, it was probably just the lack of Grady "Slingblade" Little muching on his "mmmm french-fried potaters" and refusing to sit Pierre. Torre, however, had the guts/sense to sit the star of 'Fievel Goes West.'
Also, apparently Larry Bowa is still crazy. Not really news. Relatedly, he also hates water coolers. Most people don't know that a gang of water coolers killed his parents and Br!an got them off on some bullshit technicality (I think it was "due process" or some other gay liberal shit).
The pitching has been diabolical. As usual Tiger Penis (Brad Penny...we need a glossary) came out of the gates dealing. He had one rough inning against the Maxi-Pads, but still ended up with a decent 2nd start. Again, as usual, Lowe pitched great and the boys didn't score shit for him. He must be banging everyone's chicks again. Kuroda-son was dropping that shunto-piece against the Maxi-Pads and may just make a run at NL rookie of the year. He'll have to get past other youngsters like Fukodome (I think both of these dudes are pushing 35). Bullpen was also good...as usual.
The hitting had SARS. R-Mart started off 0-11. AJ has been horse shit. Kemp has been dog-shit. Pierre has been rat shit (worse that horse and/or dog shit). Regardless, Torre has already begun to insert him in place of Kemp. You had to see that coming.
Ethier/Loney are ballers and shot-callers. I hope they call for a shot from the book depository which eliminates Pierre.
We went 4-2 this week (4-2 overall), which is always a decent week and a 100 win pace. Would've liked to get that sweep against the Giants, but the weather made it a strange game. Also, we haved sucked balls in SD recently and managed to take 2 of 3 while facing Peavy and Young.

I already love Larry Bowa. His stance on those faggy batting helmets they are making the base coaches wear was good enough but his meltdown about staying in the coaching box was epic. Who gives a shit where this dude stands? I'm also pretty sure that if Bowa was struck by a ball to the head, he would promptly just walk it off.
I'm still a little concerned with Torre's insistence on playing Fivel. It is so fucking frustrating because you know Pierre is never going to do shit when he is in the game. It felt like we had 2 pitchers in the lineup on Sunday. I know Kemp hasn't been his typical mashing self in his first 16 at bats but he's still been better than Pierre (and his defense is an immense plus).
AJ has sucked it up at the dish but the difference from Fivel in CF is night and day. Love the guy already.
Pitching has been sweeping the leg. 1.70 team ERA. Very nice.
I really think the lineup can be dynamite when everybody gets in a groove (tough to judge performance in maxi pad stadium against those tough pitchers).
This week we take on the D-Bags in AZ and come home for another 3 with the maxi pads. Great opportunity to get on a run in the division.
Oh yeah, and due process is for fags!
