Much to the shock of everyone on the planet, Chan Ho Park continues to roundhouse kick the shit out of MLB hitters. The most famous Korean since Kim Jong Il didn't give up a run to the Gayngels last night, improving his record to 3-2 and dropping his ERA to 2.52 in more than 50 innings of work this season. In a season where nearly the entire pitching staff has either gotten hurt or disappointed, this has come as an incredibly welcome surprise. Owing to Chan Ho's suckiness since leaving the comforts of Chavez Ravine, the most we expected from Park here at TQ...ViG was the occasional amusing Tae Kwon Do demonstration. Yet he and his equally unpredictable countryman Hung-Chih Kuo have combined for about 100 innings of lights out pitching. Frankly, I can't think of any reason to explain Chan Ho's revitalization in LA. Maybe he is just more comfortable in Dodger Blue? Maybe he really enjoys living in a city with a thriving Korean population (you just can't get good dog in Dallas)? Whatever the reason, keep it up!!!
Tonight Billingsley goes up against Clayton Kershaw-wannabe Jered Weaver. My prediction for the game: PAIN...and a James Loney jack-piece!!!

Also was just dicking around on Baseball Prospectus and found it interesting that James Loney has a higher VORP than Miguel Cabrera (both listed at 1B). I'm still confident the Dodger brass has done the right thing by sticking with the home grown studs and can't wait for it to really pay off here down the stretch this season and for years to come.
