Well it looks like the Baltimore Orioles have signed an agreement to replace the Dodgers in Vero Beach when the Blue Crew moves its spring training home to Arizona next year. The only comparable swap I can think of would be if the Bo Sox had traded Teddy Ballgame for a handful of magic beans back in the day (note that the team that got Teddy Ballgame would win out in that deal).
Let's compare the two sites:
Arizona: 4-5 hour drive from LA, warm/dry weather, young exciting community, ASU hotties open to suggestion, occasional coyote in the distance
Vero Beach: 3,000 miles away, hot/humid as balls, where old people from NY go to die, Jewish grandmothers, mosquitoes the size of Br!an's head and man-eating alligators
I'm sure there are more differences but in my book AZ wins in a landslide. I can't wait until March!
