You Take The Good, You Take The Bad...

Hooray for pre-season injuries! Everything must have been looking so good for Dodger fans watching Friday's contest between the Dodgers and the Cardinals: fourth inning, professional offense sinkhole Nomar Garciaparra is struck on the wrist by a pitch. Obviously this would not be nearly as positive as a Juan Pierre choking to death on his regular morning bowl of chicken dicks, but I'll take what I can get. However, it all went to shit a half inning later when Laroche was struck by a pickoff throw that tore a thumb ligament and will keep Laroche out for 2 months. I guess that means we are stuck with Nomar now, well at least we can count on him being in top shape.

On the bright side, Matt Kemp hit a jack-piece for the ages off Dice-K on sunday. Don't know if any of you guys were watching the game but Vinny just kept talking about how the ball was on its way to Tampa. Priceless! He smoked it out of the entire facility and you couldn't even see the ball on the replays (a vapor trail may have been visible but I don't have HD).

You're beginning to turn me on, Purple Stuff, talking that way. Know that if I witness this type of behavior from the young Mister Kemp during the season that I might have to borrow your commemorative Dodger Rally Towel to clean up the mess I make.
